Barton Law named as ‘Best Legal Firm 2022’

We are unbelievably proud to announce that we were named as Best Legal Firm last night at the Later Life Lending Awards which were held at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire.

Our team picked up the award in front of over 400 professionals, fellow finalists and sponsors after we were selected from a national shortlist of just 4 specialist firms in lifetime mortgages and reversion plans. 

The Judging panel was made up of fourteen equity release industry experts from major international financial institutions, The Equity Release Council, financial advisors and other legal professionals.

Those judges were impressed with our successful transition from being a department in a national law firm to being a stand alone business in our own right. Logistically this has been a major challenge which has included:

• The transfer via TUPE of a Department comprising over 30 employed staff, 23 self-employed traveling solicitors/legal executives 

• The setting up of a new office and ensuring bespoke case management systems were created and set up in time for launch

• The successful launch with no significant IT or staff issues or delays in process

• Measurable improvement in our service to clients and advisers

• Development, testing and launch of our market-leading Barton Law client facing app

• Retention of our existing referrers all of whom have been pleased with the improvement in service

• Winning new work despite only being a firm of several months standing

• Reorganization of Barton Law working processes with the creation of “super teams” to ensure that advisers feel supported by Barton Law with double the number of senior case handlers on teams as well as a higher number of juniors

• Expansion of our Appointments Team and recruitment of additional home visit solicitors has aided our service

In summary, the judges recognised that our new firm, from top to bottom, has bought into new high standards of service that we always wanted to deliver which has led to glowing feedback from clients and advisers across the industry.
