The process begins with initial talks between you and your financial adviser, who will discuss the process prior to Barton Law Ltd being instructed. The financial adviser will also advise you on which equity release product is the best one for you and your current financial situation. There are a wide range of options but it is important to pick the one that is most suitable for your financial needs. 

After that has been decided, Barton Law Ltd will guide you through the legal implications of the product to make sure you fully understand exactly what you are doing. 

Barton Law’s committed and hard working team will open a file and issue initial paperwork that you will have to complete and return to them. 

When those documents are completed and returned to Barton Law, our team will be able to proceed the legal side of the transaction in order for the process to be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. 

The lender will then issue a formal offer to the client and at this point Barton Law will give you legal advice and arrange a face to face meeting, which usually takes place at your home to discuss the offer, sign all relevant papers and discuss the next steps in the process. 

We will then send the papers to the lender’s solicitor, who will carry out their own review with a  view to setting a date for completion.  Once the documents are approved and a completion date is decided upon, Barton Law Ltd will confirm the final figure that you will receive and if you are happy to proceed and complete the process, funds will then be transferred to you on the date of completion.”
